Idol 72/217 hubset

Our hubs for 2009 have been completely redesigned and we are proud to release our new Idol hubset. We have gone back to the drawing board (CAD more so) to not only lighten the hub but also increase strength and reduce rolling resistance even further. We wanted to not only make a hub that was distinctively competitive in its own right but also design it specifically to work in unison with our wheelsets to increase torsional and lateral stiffness.

Confirmed by our testing our revised design with straight pull spokes optimises the tangential angles of the spokes in relation to the hub flange PCD, aiding in the overall strength of the wheelset. This has also further improved the spoke entry angle into the rim which compliments the benefits of our Pro Radius nipples.

For our 2009 Idol hubs ceramic bearings are standard, yes that’s right ‘standard’. No more need to worry about upgrades; we are setting a new industry benchmark with offering our Sin G5 ceramic bearings in all our elite wheelsets at no extra charge.
