Halliday Bouwmeester combo make it a double @ Mt. Gambier
Amber Halliday, after her devastating crash in New Zealand earlier in the year, has made an impressive return with the win at the Mt. Gambier 100mile classic.
Peta Mullens last year took out the win for Bouwmeester and for Amber to take out the win in the women’s (and 6th overall) puts us on a looming hatrick. Amber was in a strong group which held off the scratch in a tough race. To ride so well in her first race back after a broken and dislocated shoulder only 10 weeks is impressive.
Lets hope she continues her great from continues as she will be heading overseas in a few months to hopefully secure her spot ion the World Championship team in TT for Geelong.
Amber was in a strong group which held off the scratch riders.

Mark O'Brien has the final word in Malaysia
After a tough but successful tour, Mark O'Brien - Bouwmeester sponsored rider - has taken out the final stage win in this year's Tour of Malaysia, UCI 2.2. A fantastic way to finish off the tour.
Mark stayed away in a successful 165km break (yes 165km break, wow) to take out the win. Marko was riding his team issue Echelon wheelset which took him to the convincing win!
Bouwmeester congratulates you Marko, Awesome performance!!

She road a smooth and consistant race and thanks her many supporters that helped her get there such and Bouwmeester, SASI and coach Tim Decker, Felt, Amy Gillett Foundation, Trak Cycles along with friends and Family.

Decker 3rd @ the Warny on Limited Edition Bouwmeesters
Decker almost makes it another win at the Warrnambool
Tim Decker is no stranger to the classic race Melbourne to Warrnambool, having competed in 16 of them and taking out victory in 2007. This year Decker was racing his Bouwmeester Limited Edition Stuart O’Grady wheelset, laced into a PowerTap rear hub to keep an eye on the data. Decker said the 58mm profile wheels suited the race conditions offering a stiff lightweight setup and were fast in the bunch and sprints.
After nearly 6 ½ hours of racing the finish a breakaway sprint, Tim Decker dug deep and held on for a podium finish of 3rd with Joel Pearson from Savings & Loans taking the victory.

Amanda Bott 2nd @ Callala ProTour
Overall, happy (but not satisfied) with the result - with a 4th in Forster and a 2nd at Callala, I'm outdoing my performances from last year with my new squad at HERT with Mark Newton and the boys, and my new Yellow dot 50mm wheels of course.
Podium for Halliday at the women’s Sun Tour
Hunting down another podium position after her last victory at the Tour of New Zealand this year, Amber Halliday was hungry to perform at the Honda Hybrid Women’s Tour – the support race for the Herald Sun Tour.
Positioned well after coming 4th on stage one, Amber pushed hard the following day to get a 2nd in the time trial which is her specialty. The awesome result moved her into 2nd overall. The tough final stage at Lygon Street in Melbourne saw Amber hold on to her 2nd GC position to get her second podium for the season.
Amber was racing her team issue 50mm carbon hoops with prototype hubs. Feedback for the new wheels have been excellent and they have already been being raced in the Women’s Giro in Italy, the World Cup in Montreal and other races in Canada and the US.
Stay tuned for more details on our new 50mm wheelset to be released next year.

David Pell rips it up in the Herald Sun tour
After three solid days in tough conditions, David Pell crossed the line 4th in a breakaway sprint in stage 2. The 4th place took him to 4th in GC, positioning him well for the remaining days.
Even being one of the toughest Sun Tours with harsh winds and wet conditions, Pelly still stands by his Evo881’s being his fastest wheelset. If the winds were too gusty he opted for his set of Stuart O’Grady limited edition wheels.
Pelly unfortunately had a bad day on the bike the following stage and lost his 4th overall. He finished off a strong overall tour to finish 12th only 3 minutes behind the leader Bradley Wiggins.

Grafton to Inverell double... Photo for 3rd
So close.... David Pell missed out on 3rd place in a photo finish in Australia’s biggest Classic 1 day race over the weekend, Grafton to Inverell.
Regarded by nearly all as the most prestigious 1 day race in Australia, the race has never been won in consecutive years by one rider, ever! This shows how much of a challenge this race is for not only the body but mind. With only a tyre width deciding 3rd to 4th David was close to getting on the podium for a second year in a row. An awesome results regardless of the close result.
The day was fast with little wind so Pelly decided the Evo881’s would be the best choice for race day, Pelly was riding as a fully sponsored Bouwmeester rider for the race and was wearing our new team kit. If you like the look of our new race gear send an enquiry through.

Jono Lovelock + echelon = 13:47 up the 1/20
Jono Lovelock put in another quick time up the 1/20 in Victoria with his new echelon wheelset this weekend past. Finishing 1st in the TT Jono put down a quick 13:47 time with an average speed of just under 30km/h with power just over the 400watt mark. After talking to Jono he thinks there is room for improvement on that time.
Stay tuned for Jono’s attempt on our Evo881’s!!

Fastest wheel in Australia
At the 2009 Australian track championships Shane Perkins took our new Rspec 5spoke wheel to victory in the Mens sprint. While being a once off opportunity this was a great result for the Bouwmeester Rspec as this was its first official outing at national level and to take victory was a great success.
Congratulation have to go to Shane’s outstanding talent and determination to take out the win! We wish Shane all the best luck racing for the AIS this year.

Bouwmeester hits the hills and takes out 2nd GC & the KOM at Langkawi
Being Jai Crawford's first season on Bouwmeester he is already lighting up the roads, the second week in Feb has seen him now take the 2nd GC positions and 2nd KOM overall at the 14th Tour of Langkawi. Jai persisted with his strengths and tested the competitors in the hills on his new 'hors categorie' team issue wheelset weighing in at only 1,000g. The fruits of his labor came to the forefront on stage 5 when he finished 2nd overall and capitalised on his strengths in the hills. The margin gained on this stage was held to the end to claim his best result at Langkawi with the 2nd place overall.

Things on track for Bouwmeester
Here's a sneak peak at the new Bouwmeester five spoke track wheel. 780gr and in stiffness tests this wheel measures with amazing consistency right around the rim circumference to within +/- 2%. This is vastly superior to the Mavic Io wheel which varies in stiffness between the foam filled spokes (hi stiffness) to the empty outer rim in between by 30% in our measurement. If you're at the 2009 Australian track championships it will be making an appearance under Leigh Howard, Jack Bobridge, Glen O'shea and Shane Perkins.
Prices and total specs to come soon.

Bouwmeester's new range performs at Nationals
The Australian Road Championships saw 4 days of perfect Ballarat weather and fierce competition. In the early proceedings Sarah Kent put in a awesome time to get our first podium spot for 3rd in the under 23 Time Trial. Her form continued in the Road race to grab a 2nd accompanied by our new team rider Peta Mullens (1st) and Tiffany Cromwell who was riding our new Hors Categorie hill climbing weapons.
The men saw the strong David Pell hold the best time nearly for the whole day in the TT but fell a few spots to claim 6th with an outstanding time of 51:59 on the 39km circuit. Jai Crawford showed his climbing prowess on his new team issue Yellow dot 50mm to stay away with the breakaway for most of the day. David Pell capped off a great week with a strong finish with 12th in the road race.

Jai Crawford
“The Yellow dot 50mm is aerodynamic while also being light enough to use at every race I do this year. First ride on the 50’s I was straight up the road in the early break at the Aussie Nationals. A stiff and light wheel that will serve my purposes for racing”
David Pell
"I raced for the first time on my new evo881 at the national titles, I look for stiffness in a wheel and something that really responds. In the new wheel set I found all of this and more the wheels are light weight and superior in aerodynamics to what I have ever ridden before when at speed they rolled along with ease which is a big advantage when getting across to breaks and staying away. The evo881 wheel set its the perfect wheel for me and anyone looking for that extra speed."
Sarah Kent
"The Australian Road Championships this year were the perfect test for the new Yellow dot 38mm's. For my Time Trial they were shallow enough that I was not too affected by the strong crosswinds, while still being fast and aerodynamic. Being very light and stiff had it's advantages too in the Road Race on the tough climb and tricky descents. I look forward to continue racing on them on the Road in 2009."
Tiffany Cromwell
"The Hors Categorie hill climbing weapons weighing in at 1000gm are super light but also stiff. They spin well and roll smoothly along the road with the ceramic bearings, being shallow they are great for windy or really hilly courses as I floated up the climbs at the national championships, definetly helped me getting on the podium!"
